The initial sketch. Finished
product should vaguely resemble this image. Ha! |
|
|
Step One |
Make up several canes to
look like fabric. You can leave some plain if you like. Marble some and
make into a square. Up to you. This is even better than shopping for fabric
cuz you can make the clay "fabric" any way you want! Here are some that
I used. Leftover canes work very well here. |
 |
Step
Two |
Roll
over stack of fabric lightly just to make 'em stick together.
Cut up one of your patterns
and save one to refer to. Mark pieces if you need to. |
 |
Step Two |
Stick all your fabrics
together in a pleasing way. Combine them into a rectangle that the skirt
pattern will fit over.
Lay skirt pattern over
your fabric stack. Begin to trim around pattern. |
 |
Step
Four |
Trimmed.
See the lovely scraps? They'd make beeyoutiful beads to go with your angel
cane.
The pattern has slipped
here. It really is trimmed correctly. Really. However thick you have made
this stack is how thick all the others need to be. |
 |
Step
Five |
Pick
clay color for sleeve. Make triangle roughly the size of the sleeve pattern
and as thick as the skirt. Lay pattern on top and cut out. |
| Sorry, no pictures! |
Step
Six |
Make logs of flesh color
and cut out head, hands and feet. Wrap with black. Wrap wing with black
and place on skirt. |

Step Seven |
Lay sleeve
pattern on top of skirt. Cut into skirt from hem to top of sleeve. Do the
same on the bottom of sleeve. Remove piece and set aside. Wrap sleeve with
black and insert.
Lay hand at top of sleeve
(Not at bottom, like I did!) Cut out plug of skirt piece you removed to
fit the difference. |
