2:21 am. This is what the pulp looks
like with a couple of dye-soaked paper towels added to
the mix before boiling. Included is some computer paper,
packing paper and maybe 1/4 is newspaper. |

The other side. I know this will dry
lighter, so that will be a surprise. If it's not TOO
light, I may not need to paint, just seal it. |

Some perspective
When I think this is going to take
forever, I look back
and see that there really
is
progress. |

| Dried green
tomatoes. I mean pulp. The top picture shows the green
better than the bottom once. Just a trick of the light.
These were taken outside in diffuse light on the porch.
The ones with the wet pulp were taken indoors with a
flash.
Just a tad lighter than I'd
expected so if I do use the green pulp for a grassy bg,
I'll prolly dry brush with a few other colors of green
before adding any foliage.
For this project, I'll go
back to the plain newspaper color since the bg of Dead
Man's point is stone.
I learned something so it was not
a waste of time or materials. |

Longest dry time between layers.
I've started to build up the hillside where the Isle of
Doom will go. The area isn't big enough to hold it yet,
but it's shaping up! The red bit is a Folger's coffee
can. Maybe that will give you some perspective on how
big it's gotten. |
